CROMWELL - A husband and wife were booked into jail last night after police found a meth lab in their home.

Leon Thomas Bontrager, 24, and Heather Dian Bontrager, 21, both of 9639 Seneca Lane, were taken into custody by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force after a meth lab was found in their home at Lake Papakeechie. They were both charged with felony possession of an illegal drug/methamphetamine lab.

KCSD Deputy Sheriff Shane Bucher responded to the area of Seneca Lane after receiving neighborhood complaints of a strong odor. Bucher determined the odor to be that of methamphetamine production and contacted the county's Drug Task Force. DTF officers obtained permission to enter the residence and immediately located products and equipment used in the production of methamphetamine.

The Bontragers are being held on $2,000 bonds each.

Sheriff Rocky Goshert stressed that this arrest was mainly due to the involvement of concerned neighbors in the area.
