Emergency Management Director Ed Rock was given the go ahead by county commissioners this morning to use Kosciusko County's share of $400,000 in federal grant money.
The money is for a seven-county area that includes Kosciusko County.
Generators and light towers will be purchased with the money and stored at either county buildings or perhaps the Warsaw Police Department.
Matt Boren, Kosciusko Area Bus Service, informed the commissioners that federal stimulus money KABS received will run out in June.
He also presented the commissioners with three invoices of purchases made with that money.
They were for a generator, oil dispenser and jack.
Bob Murphy once again appeared before the commissioners concerning the Enchanted Hills grant project.
The project is to address and fix storm drainage issues in the Enchanted Hills area of northern Kosciusko County.
As part of getting that project off the ground, the commissioners this morning agreed to accept ownership and maintenance of the new storm sewer area.
It will be maintained by the county highway department.
County Surveyor Dick Kemper will oversee the project to make sure everything is being installed properly to avoid any liability for the county in the future.
The commissioners accepted a petition application to allow for parking on Backwater Road for an event in April.
County Highway Superintendent Scott Tilden said he will bring in an ordinance regarding the posting of speed limit signs on CR 700S heading west.
Jerry Clevenger appeared before the commissioners to ask when bidding would be up for companies to handle the county's insurance.
Clevenger was told the bidding went out every three years, and the last bidding was in 2008.
Commissioner Ron Truex said to be on the lookout for the bidding process.
Commissioners are Truex, Bob Conley and Brad Jackson.
Their next meeting is March 15 at 9 a.m. in the old courtroom at the Kosciusko County Courthouse.
