Staff Report-
Kosciusko County officials are investigating a white van approaching residences in a suspicious manner.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded Friday to a report in Leesburg of an older male in a white van who stopped at a residence and talked to a small juvenile. The child’s parents approached the van, which immediately fled the area.
Deputies also took at least three calls over the weekend in the southern portion of Kosciusko County of a white van stopping at residences, the driver exiting the vehicle and knocking on front doors.
Officers are not sure if the calls are related to each other due to limited information at this time, but have suggested residents, particularly parents, to be vigilant and cognitive with the various reported incidents.
Sheriff Rocky Goshert stated said if you feel a vehicle’s driver is acting suspicious in nature, do not hesitate to contact your local law enforcement to report the information.
A vehicle and driver description are important, but a license plate number will provide officers with substantial more information to investigate, he said.
