Posted

Three seminars on methamphetamines and the dangers associated with the drug will be held in January, Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine told the county commissioners Tuesday.

"It's becoming almost an epidemic situation in other counties and it's a problem here," Rovenstine said of meth.

The seminars are being presented by the Kosciusko County Meth Watch group and will provide the public with information about the drug, meth labs, what to look for and how to report a meth lab. These seminars are open to all ages and everyone is invited to attend.

The first will be held Jan. 10 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lakeview Middle School auditorium, Warsaw. On Jan. 11, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the second seminar will be at Tippecanoe Valley High School lecture room. The final seminar is Jan. 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wawasee High School auditorium.

Featured speakers will include the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force; Dr. Michael Williams, medical director, Kosciusko Community Hospital; and Mike Winston, Bowen Center, certified alcohol and drug abuse counselor.
