A collision between a county highway department dump truck and a Chevy S-10 pickup at the intersection of U.S. 30 and CR 325E about noon Monday put a New Haven man in critical condition.
Today, after being airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Jeff Howey, 46, was upgraded to fair condition.
Howey suffered extensive lower-extremity injuries after a north-bound county truck failed to yield at an intersection and collided with his east-bound pickup.
The dump truck driver, Don Shilling, 49, Silver Lake, suffered no injuries and damage to the truck is minimal.
Howey's vehicle was a total loss.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw Fire Department and Multi-Township EMS.
