Art won't be displayed in the county courthouse because of fear of setting a precedent.
Tuesday, Kosciusko County Auditor Sue Ann Mitchell told the county comissioners the Art Education Association of Indiana wants to display artwork in the county courthouse during the first week of March. They are asking counties all over the state to allow the art to be placed.
However, Kosciusko County Administrator Ron Robinson said that while the art may be a worthy idea, if they do that, they would have to allow organizations like the Ku Klux Klan to put up a display. No motion was made by the commissioners, killing the idea and any chances of art going up in the courthouse.
The county commissioners must give approval for any displays, presentations or similar items to be placed or held in the county courthouse.

Wade had a request also Tuesday before the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals for a variance for the right of way to let the illegally placed foundation remain where it was placed closer than the allowed setback of 35 feet from the road right of way. If the BZA approved the variance, commissioner Ron Truex said there was no need for them to approve the vacation.
