County COVID Case Jumps By Over 100Kosciusko County Health Department received 102 new positive molecular and antigen COVID-19 cases between noon Thursday and noon Tuesday.

Within the last five days, there also were two reported COVID-19 deaths, according to a news release Tuesday from the KCHD.

This gives the county a cumulative total of 1,538 positive antigen and molecular cases, including 19 deaths. Of the 1,538 cases, 1,209 are recovered; 282 are total active cases with 14 hospitalized active cases.

The KCHD also is recommending people don’t delay and get their flu shot. The KCHD Immunization Clinic is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:15 p.m. to 4 p.m.; with the evening clinic open on the first Monday of every month from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., except holidays. The Indiana Department of Health on Tuesday announced that 1,569 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 138,104 the total number of Indiana residents known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to Monday’s dashboard.

A total of 3,595 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 27 from the previous day. Another 227 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

As of Tuesday, the ISDH reports, 1,503,923 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 1,495,852 on Monday. A total of 2,376,462 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the ISDH since Feb. 26.
