County COVID-19 Cases Remain At 22, Recoveries Increase To 10No new confirmed positive coronavirus cases were reported to the Kosciusko County Health Department Friday, so it remains at 22, but the number of recoveries increased by one to 10.

There is still only one death in the county related to COVID-19.

Reports are dated to the date the test result was received by the KCHD, not when the individual was tested.

As of Friday, 50% of the positive cases in the county are female; 50%, male; 45% are under age 50; 68% have underlying conditions; and 27% of the positive cases have experienced loss of taste and/or smell.

The KCHD also provided a comparison of Kosciusko to surrounding counties. The data is not weighted by the number of individuals being tested within each county, but only shows the proportion of the county’s population affected by COVID-19.

In Fulton County, that percentage is 0.0198%; Kosciusko, 0.0279%; Wabash, 0.0285%; Whitley, 0.0416%; Marshall, 0.0472%; Noble, 0.0611%; Elkhart, 0.0638%; Allen, 0.0732%; and St. Joseph County, 0.1330%.

In its daily update on COVID-19 Friday, the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced 42 new COVID-19 deaths.

The ISDH also stated that 642 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 10,154 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.

A total of 519 Hoosiers have died to date. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.

To date, 54,785 tests have been reported to ISDH, up from 51,115 on Thursday.

Marion County had the most new cases, at 207. Other counties with more than 10 new cases were Allen (47), Bartholomew (13), Hamilton (21), Hendricks (29), Johnson (13), LaPorte (19), Lake (54), Madison (22), Porter (10), Shelby (11) and St. Joseph (56). The Lake County totals include results from East Chicago and Gary, which have their own health departments.

The complete list of counties with cases is included in the ISDH COVID-19 dashboard at coronavirus.in.gov. Cases are listed by county of residence. Private lab reporting may be delayed and will be reflected in the map and count when results are received at ISDH. The dashboard will be updated at noon each day.

The dashboard also has been updated to make corrections based on updated information provided to ISDH.
