County Commissioners Buy Trucks

Posted
Kosciusko County Commissioners approved the purchase of two new trucks for the county’s highway department Monday morning.

Highway Superintendent Scott Tilden said his department needed to replace two old pickups, one a 1992 and the other a 1994.

Tilden proposed, and the commissioners approved, the purchase of two new pickups with a combined cost of $43,704. One will be purchased from Warsaw Buick GMC while the other will be purchased from Kerlin Motors.

The commissioners approved a tax sale contract with SRI and a services agreement with the county’s Purdue Extension office.

Tilden then opened bids for 2012 county highway supplies. Tilden opened more than 30 bids from companies in the area and as far away as Michigan.

Tilden said he will take time to review the bids and will give his recommendations to the commissioners at their Nov. 22 meeting.

The commissioners met Monday instead of today because of it being election day.
