County Burn Ban Remains In Effect

Posted
Kosciusko County's burn ban will be in effect for at least another week.
Commissioner Bob Conley confirmed today that the Kosciusko County Commissioners extended the county's burn ban until June 29.
While rain was expected in the forecast Thursday, none fell so the commissioners decided to extend the ban.
Conley said input from county fire departments was crucial in making the decision.
"In the meantime, we need to continue to pray for rain," said Conley.
Conley noted at Tuesday's commissioner meeting that 21 calls related to the burn ban have been received by county dispatch.
He said the burn ban will go week-to-week and that he hoped it wouldn't effect Fourth of July celebrations.
Kosciusko County Sheriff Rocky Goshert wishes to advise local citizens to use simple, common sense during this time of extreme dry weather when having campfires or other outside activities involving the use of a flame.
