Kosciusko County Convention Recreation and Visitors Commission submitted their 2009 budget to the county council Thursday.
The commission's budget totals $562,500, about $3,500 more than last year. The council will vote on approval of the budget in November.
The council also discussed review of township, city, town and library budgets. State statute requires county councils to review the budgets of smaller municipalities within their counties. Kosciusko County Auditor Marsha McSherry said the review is non-binding, meaning councils can make recommendations on the budgets, but the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance is responsible for approving the budgets. The council will examine the local budgets at their next meting, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Old Courthouse, Warsaw.
