Dodgeball is set to entertain crowds in Warsaw yet again.
On Aug. 7, starting at 6:30 p.m., Lakeview Middle School gym will play host to Corporate Dodgeball.
All funds go to United Way and the event serves as a kickoff to the United Way’s annual Pacesetter campaign.
This year, one lucky person will have a shot at winning a new car. The Warsaw AutoPlex is sponsoring a half-court shot.
Each person who attends will get a ticket where they can have their ticket number called.
If the person makes two out of three shots from half court, they will win a new car from Warsaw AutoPlex.
This year’s teams are from:
– Black Concrete and Construction – Choretime – Brock Manufacturing – Lake City Bank – Akzo Nobel – Biomet – Medtronic – Silveus Insurance – Paragon Medical – Symmetry Medical – Mutual Bank – Warsaw Autoplex – DePuy – Maple Leaf Farms – Grace College – Bowen Center
Money generated for United Way will come in the form of a $2 admission fee for spectators, team fees and concessions.
Those under 10 get in free.
All refreshments have been donated by local businesses, according to Bowen Center Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing Tim Nussbaum.
Nussbaum said the idea for Corporate Dodgeball originally started in 2004 when Bowen Center served as a Pacesetter.
“The Bowen Center always likes to support agencies like United Way that puts good things back into the community,” said Nussbaum.
Along with first place, teams also will compete for Best Dressed and Biggest Hit.
