Cpl. Lee Ann Richardson of the Warsaw Police Department has been suspended without pay for five duty days - Feb. 23, 26, 27, 28 and 29 - for disciplinary reasons, according to a memo presented to the Warsaw Board of Works Tuesday by Chief of Police Steve Foster.
All salary matters (increases, decreases or suspensions of salary) come before the Board of Works.
Foster would not give the specific reason for this personnel matter.
The following conditions may result in an officer's reprimand, forfeiture, suspension without pay, dismissal or reduction of rank and pay: conviction of any criminal offense in court or if the officer is guilty of any of the following: neglect of duty, violation of the rules of the department, neglect or disobedience of orders, incapacity, absence without leave, immoral conduct, conduct injurious to the public peace or welfare, conduct unbecoming a police officer or breach of discipline.
Richardson, the only female officer on the WPD, has served the force for 18 years.
She returns to duty March 3.
