Larry Ladd, Kosciusko County coroner, provided an update today on two recent deaths.
He said, for both the Heather Endicott and Gary Beck deaths, officials are waiting for toxicology results. The results may come as early as late today or sometime next week.
Beck, 54, of Bridgeport, Ohio, was killed Sunday when his semi-tractor trailer crashed into the empty Quality Farm & Fleet/Tractor Supply Co. building. According to witnesses, his truck was traveling west on U.S. 30 when it left the north side of the highway and drove through the ditch and fence, across a parking lot and into the southeast corner of the building. The truck came to rest partially inside the building.
Today Ladd said the initial autopsy didn't reveal any medical conditions for Beck. He said he hoped the toxicology report will reveal something.
"It's still kind of a mystery," said Ladd.
Endicott's body was found March 14 wrapped in carpet in a pond behind Center Center, Warsaw. She was last seen Dec. 4 at Big Daddy's Sports Bar, Warsaw, where her pickup was found by family members Dec. 5. The pickup was taken home Dec. 9 and police later found the woman's purse and identification in the vehicle.
Asked about any physical clues on Endicott's body as to the cause of her death, Ladd said he doesn't feel he's at liberty to discuss that at this time. He said he wants to "preserve the integrity" of the investigation into the case. However, if any information comes back from toxicology, he may be able to divulge that information.
