NORTH MANCHESTER - Cornelia "Ruthann" St. John, 59, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, died at 11:40 a.m. March 14, 2007, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

She was born March 7, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., to Donavan and Martha Barwick Young. In 1966, she married Brent Barkman, who preceded her in death.

A family crisis counselor in Indianapolis, she graduated from Larkin High School, Elgin, Ill., in 1965; received a bachelor's degree from Manchester College; and a master's degree from IUPU, Indianapolis. She was a member of Church of the Brethren, Elgin, and attended Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester.

Surviving are two brothers, Robert Young, Memphis, Tenn., and Paul Young, Naperville, Ill.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Peabody Chapel, North Manchester, with Chaplain David Wentroble officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is one hour prior to the service Monday at the chapel.
