WHITLEY COUNTY - A Whitley County woman has reported an incident in which she was approached by a man and asked to smell a new cleaning product.
The fumes from the product caused immediate dizziness and she also reported feeling nauseous and weak.
This particular incident happened last Friday afternoon when two men in a white van with some type of logo pulled into her driveway. One man approached the house and knocked on the front door. Although the woman reported that she didn't let him into the house, the odor from the spray bottle he had was enough to cause her problems.
The victim was able to reach her cell phone and call 911. When the man saw her on the phone he ran to the van and fled the scene.
The Whitley County Sheriff's Department has taken reports concerning more than one such incident, but have no further information.
Sgt. Chad Hill of the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department said that the incidents appear to be confined to Whitley County.
There is no other information concerning the suspects or the vehicle in question at this time.
