SYRACUSE – A Syracuse man is facing charges after police allege he attacked his mother with a grill fork.
Jeromie Lee Bright, 37, of 804 N. Mill St., is facing felony charges of battery with a deadly weapon, intimidation with a deadly weapon, battery with a moderate bodily injury and strangulation.
Police say that on Feb. 3, Bright went to his mother’s home and began to yell at her for telling his girlfriend things about her.
She told police Bright grabbed and began throwing her around, dragging her around the front porch area and punching her in the head. He then threw her against the wall, causing her head to hit some cast iron skillets, according to court records.
Bright allegedly choked her and took a grill fork and began to stab her in the forearm with the fork, saying he was going to kill her.
The victim attempted to call the police, but Bright kept taking phones from her, court records state.
The victim escaped and flagged down a passing vehicle and called police.
Bright was arrested on Saturday and is currently out on bond.
