A shooting over the weekend sent one local man to the hospital.
A 33-year-old male was reportedly shot in the leg at 11:30 p.m. Friday night in the parking lot of Time Out Inn, 1701 W. Lake St., Warsaw.
The victim was found in the parking lot of the nearby Moose Lodge and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital, where he was treated and released. He was apparently struck by a bullet from a 9mm handgun, which appeared to have either been deflected or ricocheted prior to striking his leg.
According to a Warsaw Police Department press release, an unknown black male was seen running from the scene. A potential suspect was located later, but the incident is still considered under investigation.
Police believe that both the shooter and the victim were acquainted. The investigation has been hindered by the lack of cooperation from the parties involved and from witnesses at the scene.
The Warsaw Police Department is not releasing the name of the victim or that of the suspect at this time.
The Warsaw Police Department was assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
