Fetters Construction of Fort Wayne was awarded the contract for the Warsaw Community Public Library construction project.
The library board on Monday accepted Fetters' base bid of $4.1 million - the lowest of seven contractors which bid on the project. Bids from Fetters were also accepted on two alternates for the project: asphalt shingles, which will reduce the overall cost by $84,000, and a folding partition panel, an increase of $9,500.
A third alternate bid - the cost to finish the lower level of the addition - will be awarded within 120 days. Bids for this alternate range from $95,777 to $217,700.
Fetters expects fences to be erected around the building site on Oct. 7, with construction to begin shortly thereafter.
