Constitution

Editor, Times-Union:

Clearly, the United States was founded on Christian principles. One of the documents that supported the establishment of the Constitution was from the Virginia Bill of Rights adopted June 12, 1776. Patric Henry drafted the article on religious freedom. I refer to the article number 16, "The religion, or the duty which we owe to our creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence; and therefore all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience; and that it is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love and charity towards each other."

Article VII second paragraph of the Constitution of the United States - "Done in convention by the unanimous consent of the states present the seventh day of September in the year of our Lord (there is only one Lord this refers to and his name is Jesus) one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of American the 12th".

Someone of supposed knowledge said there was not one mention of "God" in the Constitution. Wrong.

Mr. Eppenbaugh, your letters have been excellently written, well researched and truthful.

It is clear to all of the Times-Union area that tyranny is abroad in Washington D.C. The Liberal tyrants are bribing and threatening their "friends" to get votes to pass the most unnecessary, unconstitutional bill in U.S. History. They are committing treason in every sense of the word with the "health care" bill that passed the senate while America slept.

It is also clear that Anthony Burchette is mentally unstrung! He has a morbid, unhealthy fascination with Sarah Palin, Fox News and the GOP in general. A hatred that I call "unstrung." His letters are hate filled, he tries to be clever and fails miserably, and it's clear to that his intelligence and mode of reasoning are one card shy of a full deck.

His partner, Janet Collins, simply wants the government to give her everything. Again she to, is filled with hate and loathing that makes no sense in her letters. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.

This health care bill is a piece of crap from beginning to end. No one who has socialized health care likes it. One person I know personally, just died waiting-waiting-waiting for treatment. Twenty-three million people will be without care even if it passes on through and becomes law.

The American people need jobs and this river of red ink stopped. Anyone who wants the 2,000-page bill passed is insane.

Keep after our legislators (even if they do sneak in and out of Indiana in the dead of night.) Judgement Day is coming for all of them and America is going to lower the ax.
