Conrad Scholarship OutingMonday marked the second annual golf outing to support the Kimberly and Stephen Conrad Scholarship Fund. The event, at Maxwelton Golf Course in Syracuse, drew 43 teams – 17 in a morning flight and 26 in the afternoon. Kim and Stephen, a mother and son, were killed in a Christmas day traffic accident in 2016. Stephen was an avid golfer who had won the Indiana Open in 2012. He also was a varsity Wawasee basketball player. His mother was a teacher in the Wawasee school system and a gymnastics and cheerleading coach. Approximately $20,000 was raised for the scholarship fund, which targets students in golf, basketball, gymnastics and cheer, and students who want to become educators. Pictured (L to R) are Brent Kaiser, Steve Conrad (husband of Kim and father of Stephen) and Mark Jensen watching on as Cindy Kaiser putts on the first green. The winning team, with a score of –17, comprised Caleb Lung, Kurt Hand, Trevor McKibben and Alec Dutkowski.
