MENTONE — Connie C. Burkhart, 64, Amboy, died at 12:46 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, after being in failing health for 16 months.
She was born May 28, 1953, in Rochester, to Sidney and Phyllis Bowser Alber. She married her husband of 41 years, Roy L. Burkhart, on April 17, 1976, in Talma United Methodist Church.
She had been a store clerk, working in retail at the Amboy Market. She was a 1971 graduate of Mentone High School. She was a member of Converse United Methodist Church for over 30 years. She had a deep love for her family, community and church.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Burkhart, Amboy; daughters, April Berry, Warsaw, and Michelle (husband Jeff) Puckett, Mentone; a son, Matthew (wife Becky) Burkhart, Wabash; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Tom (wife Sandy) Alber, Woodburn, and Randy (wife Kristy) Alber, Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Phyllis Alber.
Services will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 9, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the service, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Pastor David Steinke will officiate.
Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Converse United Methodist Church, 109 E. Wabash St., Converse.
