Editor, Times-Union:
Greetings:
It is with great pleasure that I write to you today with renewed vigor and faith filled optimism with this request for your continued support, and vote on Tuesday, May 5th. The voting polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. However, early in person voting is available now.
My motto is “Let’s Keep A Good Thing Going.“ My approach to county government is treat spending as if it were my own money, try to leverage our funds in such a way that it benefits the most people.
I thank you for your past support and I look forward to working for you, the hard working tax payer, and fellow residents of this great county. I represent all citizens of Kosciusko County, from Syracuse to Silver Lake and from Pierceton to Etna Green as your current working commissioner.
In the recent past, I was asked to examine the pros and cons of a data center and I did just that and found that it wasn’t a good fit for our agriculture community, but, I also visited community meetings and found overwhelmingly that the people didn’t want it and I voted in opposition. I was also confronted by outside influence to support “wind turbines” once again with lots of county residents’ input and a visit to Fowler, Indiana, to look up close at the turbine farms. It was appalling. Their county was scarred by so many turbines constantly turning, disrupting the serenity of their beautiful land. The residents of Kosciuszko County deserve better, and I voted it down.
My fellow residents, as county commissioners Cary, Sue Ann and I take seriously our fiduciary responsibility as your elected representatives to do the best we can to represent you well.
Respectfully:
Robert M. “Bob” Conley, president
Kosciusko County Board of Commissioners
