Chad Dawson, corporate tour director at Biomet Inc., explains the function of a knee implant to a pair of U.S. Congressmen Wednesday afternoon. Rep. Bill Goodling (C) is a Republican from Pennsylvania and the chairman of the Education and Workforce Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. Goodling was brought to Warsaw by Rep. Steve Buyer (R), a Republican from Monticello who represents Indiana's fifth congressional district. Buyer's district includes the southern portion of Kosciusko County. Goodling said he was visiting the district to 'get a feel for what problems employers are facing. It's not the same as someone testifying up on the Hill,' he said. He added that Congress is considering ways to improve the relationship between employers and federal agencies such as OSHA and the NLRB. 'These agencies should be there to help, not act as policemen,' he said. 'Nine times out of 10 what comes out of Washington, D.C., isn't very beneficial to businesses.' Goodling and Buyer also attended an education workshop in Plymouth and visted with Steve Kesler, general manager at Explorer Van. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
