NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester College invites its neighbors and friends to join students, faculty and staff in auditioning for its spring play, Shakespeare’s comedy “Much Ado About Nothing.” “These auditions are open to everyone; no experience is necessary,” said Jane Frazier, Manchester College theater director. “Actors should be prepared to read from the script.” Auditions are 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. March 5 and March 6 in Wampler Auditorium, on the west end of the Administration Building on College Avenue. Casting needs for this May 11-13 performance (on the College Mall if weather permits) include 11 men age 18 to their 60s and four women of the same age span. The play also has several non-speaking roles, Frazier noted. There are no roles for children.Rehearsals are 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday (with possible Sunday afternoons) March 13-15 and March 26 to May 10. Not everyone will be called every day. Performances are 6 p.m. May 11-12 and 3 p.m. May 13. “Much Ado About Nothing” is about two couples, one visibly hopelessly in love, the other passionately engaged in a constant war of words.
