Kosciusko County commissioners Ron Truex and Brad Jackson held a very short meeting today, hearing from Kosciusko Area Bus Service director Rita Baker and county highway superintendent Rob Ladson, before adjourning the meeting eight minutes after 9 a.m.
Baker presented a voucher for a new bus, which was accepted. She said the last large passenger bus was "going to Gill's" (Mike Gill's Auto and Truck Partsin Warsaw) and the KABS fleet would consist of vans.
Ladson presented a request to place a four-way stop sign at the corner of Lilly and Bishop roads. The council approved preliminary acceptance of Acorn Estates along Levi Lee Road because the developer is asking for snow removal services this winter.
Construction on bridge 289, leading to Cedar Point Island on the east side of Lake Wawasee, should begin at the end of October, Ladson said, but it won't have a layer of asphalt until spring.
A drainage permit inspector's job description was approved, as requested by county administrator Ron Robinson. The person who held the part-time job has quit, according to Ladson, and the drainage board plans to advertise the post.
Commissioner Avis Gunter was absent.
