A new ordinance to keep semi traffic off two Warsaw roads was approved this morning.
County Highway Superintendent Scott Tilden presented the ordinance to the county commissioners this morning.
The ordinance doesn't allow thru traffic and keeps only local delivery vehicles from driving on Rozella Road and a section of Ferguson Road.
Tilden said he worked with county attorney Mike Miner to get the language of the ordinance correct.
No thru traffic will be allowed on Rozella Road from Ind. 15 to Ind. 25, or on Ferguson Road between Ind. 25 and CR 200S.
Those who break that ordinance are subject to a Class B infraction per Indiana Code. The infraction carries a maximum fine of $1,000.
The commissioners also approved an agreement between the county and the Michiana Area Council of Government.
Under the agreement, the assessor's office would share information with MACOG and in exchange receive a program called Change Over.
The program uses aerial photography to allow for building changes to be seen for reassessment purposes.
The total cost of the program is $22,000 with MACOG paying $14,466.
The $7,534 difference will come out of the county's reassessment fund.
Brad Jackson will serve as the president of the commissioners in 2011. He was voted as president, while Bob Conley will serve as vice president.
Ron Truex was president in 2010.
The commissioners next meeting will be Jan. 18 at 9 a.m. in the Old Courtroom.
