Commissioners

Let's look at the latest report on what the county commissioners have to say about closing CR 100E in a point/counter point format.

"The closing of CR 100E got three years ahead of discussion," said commissioner Ron Truex. "We have to look at what's in the best interest of the community long term."(Closing 100E isn't in the best interests of the community in any regard whatsoever, unless the county wants to build another North/South route out of town. The flow of traffic between 15N and Chapman Lake is completely funneled. Three years from now I seriously doubt there's going to be less traffic trying to get out of Warsaw to the north.)

"Truex said there is a lot of discussion that is needed before a decision can even be made on what to do with CR 100E."

(What decision, the decision to close it? Waiting until three years from now isn't going to make it a good decision. I guess he means he needs that time to decide if he wants to rerun for election because if they do close this road, many of these commissioners will eventually find themselves out of a job.)

"Commissioner Bob Conley said he was 'really disappointed that fear factored into the discussion.'"

(Why wouldn't fear be a factor, we are talking about public safety here? Every time I drive down 15N I take my life not only into my own hands but the hands of every other driver I encounter. Driving past or pulling out at the Levi Lee intersection is a daily gamble with death. Going south, try turning left on 350N, by the time your halfway across the left lane, a vehicle barreling at 55 miles an hour is going to come right at you, and if there's anyone going north turning left, you can't see around them.)

"Conley cited the talk discussing emergency personnel's ability to respond to incidents as bringing fear into the discussion."

(I guess shutting off the fastest route to the hospital on a road that is directly connected with Dubois Drive shouldn't be a consideration. To alarmist for civil discussion. Heaven forbid there's a train.)

"Jackson said that the commissioners would explore every feasible option."

(Feasible to who? Define feasible? When are elected officials going to start doing their job and protect the public's best interests. You know, silly things like property values.)

Sorry, I had to stop here due to the word count limitation.

You want a real futuristic vision, then build another airport 3-5 miles to the west and make it big enough to handle all the air traffic you can envision in the next 25 years. Then air traffic and drivers won't have to navigate around lakes and rivers and state highways and residential areas and shopping centers and power lines. Do a study, get a grant, garner all the federal money you can get your hands on, line up investors, make it commercial, do it right ... for a change.
