PALESTINE - A Columbia City man died Wednesday after falling from a roof at a house on Palestine Lake.

Levi Tarr, 40, was pronounced dead at Kosciusko Community Hospital shortly after the 11 a.m. incident.

According to Kosciusko County Coroner Larry Ladd, the only visible injury Tarr suffered was a small cut to the top of his head. An autopsy is scheduled for today in Columbia City.

Tarr and a co-worker with B&W Roofing, Columbia City, were both on the roof and the co-worker was not aware Tarr fell until a witnesses called him down.

The witness, who saw Tarr fall from the roof, said it appeared Tarr collapsed and then rolled off the roof. He did not yell or make any attempt to catch himself before falling.

Ladd said X-rays show no skull or neck fractures and that Tarr may have died from natural causes. Bystanders began CPR at the scene, but medical personnel were unable to revive Tarr.
