The Manchester Spartans dropped their first game of the season to Indiana Tech Wednesday in North Manchester. Indiana Tech came out on top 4-2.

The Manchester squad was led by Al Calixte and Ahmed Zughayer who scored the ony two Spartean goals of the evening.

Manchester is now 2-1 overall.

Manchester College's men's soccer team competed in a tournament at Anderson University Friday and Saturday and got its season underway to a 2-0 record. The Spartans topped Olivet-Nazarene 1-0 on a goal scored by Andy Lahman. On Saturday Manchester defeated Shawnee State 2-1.

Manchester College's women's tennis team dropped to 0-3 on the season with a 7-2 loss at home to IPFW. The Spartans won by default at No. 6 singles and No. 1 doubles. The Spartans will visit Anderson University on Saturday at 9 a.m.

Tuesday in Mishawaka

Grace College's women's soccer team topped Bethel Tuesday 4-0, its second consecutive shutout and fifth consecutive scoreless half. Hannah Loss picked up the win in the goalie box for the Lancers and made nine saves. Eve Arthur scored two goals for the Lancers pushing her career total to 71. Grace (2-1, 1-0 MCC) will compete in the Trinity Christian Tournament Friday and Saturday.

The women's soccer team at Manchester College picked up its first win of the season, 3-0 over Defiance College at home on Tuesday. Rachel Stein scored two goals for the Spartans. Rachel Inks scored the other goal for Manchester. Manchester (1-2) will travel to Earlham College on Saturday with a 1 p.m. start.
