The Grace College baseball team hit five home runs Tuesday, defeating NCAA Div. II Hillsdale College 11-1 and 16-15 in a doubleheader at Miller Field.

In the opener, Mike Cox pitched all five innings before the Lancers won by the mercy rule. Cox also drove in six runs, including four on a grand slam that gave Grace a 9-1 bulge. Steve Walta also hit a homer in the game.

The second game teetered back and forth and the Lancers led 15-0 heading into the seventh. However, Hillsdale scored five times to tie the game before Grace broke the tie in the bottom half of the inning. Greg Hannah left the yard twice while Walta added his second homer of the day in the win.
