The Manchester Spartans earned a 2-1 homecoming win over Hanover in North Manchester Saturday.

Chris Good and Mark Overly each scored one goal for the Manchester squad while Al Calixte assisted on both.

Manchester is now 6-7 on the season.

Saturday in Winona Lake

GRACE 8, FRANKLIN 0

The Grace College men's soccer team put together back-to-back wins for the first time in two years this week, winning the second game decisively with an 8-0 shutout of Franklin Saturday at homecoming.

Grace scored early and often, leading 4-0 at the half. The Lancers scored four more times in the second half to win easily.

Ryan Rollefson was the only Lancers to score two goals and he also added an assist. Steve Muldoon had three assists for Grace.

Grace (4-11-1, 1-3 MCC) will play at Indiana Wesleyan Tuesday at 7 p.m. as the Lancers attempt to win their second straight conference match.

The Manchester volleyball Spartans hosted Mt. St. Joseph Friday and fell in three straight matches, 16-14, 15-9, 15-1.

Kim Miller led the Spartans with 8 kills, 14 digs and one block.

Manchester is now 1-18 overall and 0-2 in the HCAC.

It took only 45 minutes for the Grace College volleyball team to take care of business over homecoming. The Lancers defeated Dominican University 15-2, 15-2, 15-3 Saturday.

Mandy RInghand and Kate Millen each had 11 kills for the Lancers while freshman Jessica Zaugg had 23 assists.

Grace (16-9, 2-1 MCC) will play at Huntington Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in a Mid-Central Conference match.

NORTHWOOD 4, GRACE 1

The Grace College women's soccer team took a quick 1-0 lead over Northwood during homecoming, but the Timberwolves scored twice late in the first half amd two more times in the second half to win 4-1 Saturday.

Grace's Eve Arthur scored her 76th career goal less than six minutes into the half as the Lancers took control early. However, an injury to the Northwood goalkeeper later in the half stopped the game for about 30 minutes.

Grace (8-5-1, 3-2 MCC) will host Indiana Wesleyan Wednesday at 3 p.m.
