NORTH MANCHESTER -ÊThe Manchester College baseball team hosted Indiana Tech and fell 14-13 Thursday in North Manchester.

Indiana Tech broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the fourth inning and took a 4-2 lead. However, the Spartans exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the fourth and two in the bottom of the fifth to take a 12-6 lead.

Indiana Tech answered the Spartan rally with one of its own in the top of the eighth inning. After Indiana Tech scored seven runs in the eighth to take a 13-12 lead, Manchester tied the score with a run in the bottom of the eighth. Indiana Tech scored a run in the top of the ninth that led to the 14-13 win.

Pete Britton led the Spartans with four hits in six at-bats with a double and two RBIs.

Manchester will host Anderson for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday.

Manchester College's baseball team stole two games of a doubleheader at Olivet Wednesday. The Spartans won the first game 3-1 and the second game 6-4. Manchester is now 17-14 on the season.

Wednesday in Franklin

Manchester College's softball team traveled to Franklin College Wednesday for a doubleheader, going 1-1 on the afternoon. Manchester won the first game 3-0 and Franklin won the second 4-1. The Spartans are now 18-16 overall and 8-4 in the HCAC. Manchester will be in action again Saturday when it hosts Hanover College at 12:20 p.m.
