WINONA LAKE -ÊThe Grace College volleyball team stunned NAIA No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan for the second time this season, defeating the Wildcats for the Mid-Central Conference Tournament Championship.
The Lancers beat Indiana Wesleyan 15-5, 15-9, 9-15, 13-15, 15-12 Saturday to hand the Wildcats just their third loss of the year.
The Lancers won the first two games before dropping two consecutive games. Indiana Wesleyan led 3-0 in the third game before Grace came storming back.
Tricia Doyle had 27 kills in the match and Kate Millen added 17. Jessica Zaugg had 63 assists and Dawn Harper added seven blocks.
Grace (28-17) will now host the NAIA Regional Tournament Saturday. The Lancers will play Cornerstone at noon, while Indiana Wesleyan will play Madonna at 10 a.m. The Championship will take place at 6 p.m. for an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament.

Grace places third at NCCAA
Saturday in Cedarville, Ohio
The Grace College men's cross country team had its best showing ever at the NCCAA National Championships Saturday, finishing third overall.
The Lancers scored 104 points, ending behind champion Malone and runner-up Cedarville. Malone is ranked No. 4 by the NAIA and Cedarville is No. 6, while Grace sits at No. 18.
Daniel Njenga ended sixth overall at the meet with a time of 25:44. Tim Sprankle ended 19th with a time of 26:34. Michael Kamami was 24th, and Jerid Stoffel was 26th.
Njenga was named to the All-America team, while Sprankle and David Holabeck were each named to the academic All-America team.
For Sprankle, it is the second time he has been named to that team.
Grace will move on to the NAIA National Championships at Wisconsin-Parkside November 18. The Lancers have a season record of 113-14.

The Grace College men's basketball team lost a hard-fought game to Kendall College in the championship of the Warsaw Optimist Tip-Off Tournament 81-76 Saturday.
The Lancers were hit with injury problems throughout the game as starting point guard Matt Moore was sent to the sideline with a back injury six minutes into the game. Then starting forward Ben Tonagel got a hand injury early in the second half that forced him to miss the remainder of the game.
The Lancers trailed by one point at the break and led by as many as seven points in the second half.
Grace led 63-56 with eight minutes to play, but Kendall made four three-pointers down the stretch to come up with the 81-76 win.
Dan Scharlach led the Lancers with 18 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Matt Abernethy had 17 points and a team-high 13 rebounds.
Joe Saunders added 14 points off the bench for Grace.
Grace (2-1) will host NAIA No. 29 Tri-State Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. Kendall improves to 3-0, including a four-point victory over Bethel College.
