FRANKLIN -ÊManchester College's men's basketball led 24-22 at Franklin Saturday but couldn't hold on and fell 70-58. The loss drops the Spartans' overall season record to 18-9. Franklin improves to 20-6 on the season.
Carson Harris led Manchester in the scoring column with 15 points, while freshman Eric Swan added 11.
Franklin was led in the scoring column by three double-figure scorers in Kyle Hobbs with 25 and Paul Buening and Jim Sigler with 17 points each.

WRESTLING
The Manchester College wrestling team placed third out of 13 teams at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals Saturday with a score of 101.5. Mount St. Joseph won the team title with a 126 and was followed by Olivet with a 110. Three Spartans took individual first place finishes. Senior Josh Hardman won the 149-pound class by defeating Wilmington's Jimmy Wallace, giving Wallace his first loss of the year. In the 157-pound class, junior Darrell Carr defeated Chris Nader of Case Western 16-6. Sophomore Jason Carr took top honors in the 165-pound class, winning on a medical default. All three qualified for the national tournament. Hardman was named outstanding wrestler for the tournament. Manchester coach Tom Jarman was named outstanding coach of the tournament. The national meet will take place March 4 and 5 at Ohio Northern University.
