MEN'S TENNIS

HCAC Championships

Saturday at Mount St. Joseph

The Manchester College men's tennis team placed third overall in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships held on the campus of Mount St. Joseph. Manchester's Mark Heiden placed third at No. 4 singles, as did Jay Jewell at No. 6 singles. In doubles action, the team of Clint Beck and Heiden placed third at No. 2 doubles, and Jewell and Michael Good placed third at No. 3 doubles. Tim Flory placed fourth at No. 1 singles, and No. 1 doubles. Teammate Ryan Linstromberg placed fifth at No. 2 singles. Both Flory and Linstromberg were named to the All-Conference team, and placed third overall in both conference and regular-season conference standings with an overall record of 4-3, 4-2 in the HCAC. Anderson won the event, followed by Hanover in a close second-place finish.
