BOURBON – Clifford D. Stevenson, 84, Bourbon, and formerly of Mishawaka, passed away at 5:37 p.m. Dec. 30, 2013, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka with his family at his side. He was born Jan. 12, 1929, in Rosemont, W.Va., to Roy B. and Clara Howdershelt Stevenson. On Sept. 24, 1949, he married Anna Louise Schooley, who died March 23, 2005. On Nov. 5, 2005, he married Betty Metheny Dodson, who survives. He was blessed to blend two families into one. He had been a resident of Bourbon since 2005, moving there from Mishawaka. He and Betty were faithful members of The Country Church, Bourbon. He was retired from Uniroyal of Mishawaka as a stationary engineer. In his spare time he loved coon hunting, playing horseshoes and he played the fiddle for square dancing events. At anything that involved family and friends, you would find Cliff there. His smile was beautiful and he will be greatly missed by all. Also surviving are seven children; Linda S. (and spouse Pastor Michael) Jenkins, Granger; Michael W. (and spouse Jacqueline D.) Stevenson, South Bend; Mark A, (and spouse Deborah) Stevenson, Granger; David E. (and spouse Jeanne) Stevenson, Merrillville; Matt B. (and spouse Jeanette) Stevenson, Mishawaka; Melita (and spouse Rick) Hegadus, Green Valley, Ariz.; Sharon L. (and spouse Gary) Welborn and Keena (and spouse Alan) Savill, both of Bourbon. He was further blessed with 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; his sister; Dolly Harrison, Elwood; his brother, Kenneth Stevenson, Virginia; and a nephew, Roy “Sonny” (and spouse Donna) Wotring, Mishawaka. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Geraldine Gable; and a brother, Glen Stevenson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Country Church, Ind. 331N, Bourbon, with Pastors Dave Gould and Michael Jenkins officiating. Calling is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
