Tremendous fun and exciting activity took place when Clevenger Insurance challenged Facebook users of The Animal Welfare League throughout March, according to a press released provided by the AWL. Clevenger Insurance offered $1 for every “like” that reached their Facebook page from the notice on the Animal Welfare League Facebook page. “This beautiful idea that came from the Clevenger staff benefited everyone concerned. Best of all, we received a very nice check from Clevenger to help with our current capital campaign fundraising,” said Darla McCammon, executive director. The capital campaign to help the animals is in full swing and donors are encouraged to support the efforts of the organization, the release states. Lake City Radio stations have worked in promoting this campaign and it is possible to track progress of the campaign on its Facebook as well as the AWL website and Facebook. “We are pleased with the progress of our matching grant thus far, but we continue to need additional support in order to take advantage of this offer of matching funds,” McCammon said. “Our goal is to provide our community with a continually improving top-notch facility that offers many opportunities for kids and adults, and allows them to learn about and interact with the pets that provide so much in benefits to those given this opportunity. We want to offer birthday parties for kids with the pets, camps that train in behavior and education about pets and animals, exercise with running buddies, how pets bring us health and well-being and so much more.”
