Clemons Still Critical After Old 30 Crash

Posted
A week after a wreck on Old 30 took one life, another is still in critical condition.

Joshua Clemons, 20, of Bourbon, is listed in critical condition at Memorial Hospital in South Bend after a Dec. 4 car accident on Old 30, just west of CR 800W.

Clemons was a passenger in a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Ryan Herrick, 19, Etna Green, when it collided with a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup driven by Keith "Doozy" Huffer, 76, of Atwood.

Huffer was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Herrick was released from Memorial Hospital late last week.

According to police, Herrick was attempting to pass a vehicle when he lost control and struck Huffer's pickup.

The impact of the collision caused Herrick's car to split in two, with the pieces landing 30 feet away from each other.

The crash remains under investigation with KCSD.
