Clemens Now Full-Time Winona Lake Police OfficerWINONA LAKE – The town of Winona Lake has added a full-time police officer to its ranks.
Daniel Clemens, 36, was sworn in during a brief meeting of the Winona Lake Town Council Tuesday.
Clemens was previously an officer with Warsaw Police. He’s been a reserve with Winona Lake and, before that, the Claypool Police Department.
Clemens’ wife and four children attended the ceremony. They live in Claypool where he works for Louis Dreyfus Company.
The addition brings the police department back to being fully staffed.
Town Marshal Joe Hawn recommended the town waive the probationary period since he’s already been working with the department. That also allows the officer to begin at the normal starting pay rate.
Clemens was sworn in by town attorney Adam Turner.
