Clayton Leo Shelburne, 76, Warsaw, died at 7:39 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at his residence.

He was born on Dec. 23, 1943, in San Francisco, Calif., to Geneva Strickland Shelburne and Leo Shelburne. On March 4, 1967, he was married to Lila Naomi Wold Shelburne.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy active duty from 1965-1967 and four years in the Navy Reserves.     

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to noon at First Christian Church, Warsaw. Due to safety concerns from COVID-19, the visitation is limited to 25 people at a time. Please use good judgment in determining the length of your visit or if you should attend. There will be no congregating in the parking lot and physical distancing of 6 feet is mandatory.

Clayton’s life will be celebrated following visitation with a private family service on Tuesday, May 12 at First Christian Church at and officiated by Pastor Matthew Rogers. First Christian Church will livestream the service at 1 p.m. at www.facebook.com/FCCwarsaw

Private burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw with military rites conducted by members of the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. both of Warsaw.  

Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
