Claypool Student Wins Essay Contest

Dustin Pifer, Claypool, has been selected as one of five national winners in the Sleep Research Society 1997 Essay Awards Program.

As a first-prize winner, Pifer received $250 for his essay "Eating During Nocturnal Somnambulism." The essay was selected based on content, scientific application and originality.

Essays were limited to 1,000 words and were accepted on any topic related to sleep.

The Sleep Research Society is a professional organization of scientists and physicians fostering research on all aspects of sleep and its disorders. The Society also promotes education and training in sleep research.

Pifer graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 1997. He is the son of Clifford and Mona Pifer, Claypool.
