Claypool School Vandalism Cleanup To Cost $2,000

CLAYPOOL - Vandalism found inside Claypool Elementary School Thursday will be cleaned up at an estimated cost of $2,000, Interim Superintendent Ralph Bailey said.

Spraypaint on the school's gymnasium floor and walls was discovered by Greg Schroeder, director of maintenance, during an inspection of the facility.

Officials believe the perpetrators gained access to the building through an unlocked door, which was left unlatched by an unknown party.

Rumors of the gymnasium damage totaling $30,000 were false, Bailey said. The spraypaint will be removed in a timely fashion.
