A HOME RULE ORDINANCE TO SPECIFY USE AND AUTHORIZATION OF THE PROMOTIONAL APPROPRIATION BUDGET IN THE GENERAL FUND
WHEREAS, the Town of Claypool, Indiana deems it necessary to establish a "Home Rule" to specify the uses and authorization of payments from the promotional appropriation in the General Fund of the Town of Claypool; and
WHEREAS, the Claypool Town Council envisions the promotions of economic development, business, and community affairs under IC 36-7-2-7 for the Town of Claypool, Indiana;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF CLAYPOOL AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
The Clerk-Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay the expenses of or to reimburse Town Officials as the case may be, for expenses incurred in promoting the best interest of the Town. Such expenses may include, but not necessarily be limited to, rental of meting place, meals; decorations; memorabilia; awards; expenses incurred in interviewing job applicants; expenses incurred in promoting industrial; commercial and residential development; expenses incurred in developing relations with other units of government; expenses incurred in maintaining and improving employee morale through employee recognition, and any expenses of civil or governmental nature deemed by the Town Council to be it in the interest of the Town.
Section 2.
The Town Council by the majority of the vote may authorize the Clerk-Treasurer to donate a set sum of monies in the promotion of the Town of Claypool to the benefit of providing community involvement, free services, draw revenue and business and/or or tourism of the Town of Claypool, Indiana.
