ORDINANCE NO. 11-03-03 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING DOGS OR CATS RUNNING AT LARGE WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Claypool has considered health and safety issues with respect to dogs or cats running at large within Town limits; and WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Claypool has determined that it is prudent to regulate the running at large by dogs or cats within Town limits. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF CLAYPOOL, INDIANA: Section 1. That is shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog or cat to permit such animal to roam the streets or properties within the corporate limits of the Town of Claypool, unless attended by the owner or other responsible person. Section 2. That if the owner of any dog or cat found roaming within the Town limits can not be found within a reasonable amount of time, the dog or cat found roaming will be turned over to Kosciusko County Animal Control for handling pursuant to its normal procedures. Section 3. That the penalty for each violation of this Ordinance, which shall apply separately to each animal involved, shall be Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00). Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and due publication as provided by law.
