Claypool OKs Remaining Payment for Water Plant

Posted
CLAYPOOL – Town Council Monday approved a $11,239 remainder due to Beer and Slabaugh after receiving a detailed invoice.
Council members approved a $18,000 payment last month but didn’t release the remainder until after requesting an itemized list from the company, which did work on water treatment plant upgrades. The town had initially received a bill without many details.
Also Monday, council told Advanced Disposal General Manager Jerry Schnitzius they saw no problem with changing trash pickup from Friday to Monday. He had requested the change for scheduling reasons.
He said the change may occur in the third week of August and that the company will notify residents ahead of time.
And council heard from Clerk-Treasurer Connie Morgan that the food pantry will be in town Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon; and that she had corrected a water meter issue which had caused a residence to be missed at billing, since the meter displayed it as a neighboring house ever since a company installed new meters in 2010. She said the difference between the two bills was 264,000 gallons, worth about $1,800, which the town was forced to write off.
And council set a workshop for the 2015 budget July 30 at 5 p.m.
