CLAYPOOL - A number of issues went before the Claypool Town Council Monday night.
The new board president for 2008 was selected, the superintendent of wastewater treatment was changed, the three-year capitol improvement plan was set aside at this time, the water tower contract was passed, and a patron made several complaints.Don Miller was elected to fulfill the board president position again.
The previous wastewater treatment superintendent, Gene Warner, was named assistant superintendent, while Danny Warner, the previous assistant superintendent, was made superintendent.
The three-year capital improvement plan that needs to be re-adopted was set aside for clarification. The plan has not yet been signed because of uncertainty caused by the date stated in the contract. The three-year plan allows $30,000 for water and construction work, and $80,000 for storm water repairs. This plan will be reviewed and signed by the council members when the date is clarified.
A meeting will be called sometime next week to go over the adoption of salary ordinances for the 2008 budget.
The new holiday schedule for 2008 has been adopted. The same holidays as last year will be observed.
The water tower contract with Era Valdivia was approved. Additional services were added to the original price, bringing the total cost to $48,700.
A Claypool resident had issues regarding paying for unneeded trash removal, unlawfully parked vehicles and the estimations of meter readings. The town council members suggested she fill out a formal complaint form that will be presented to the council members.
