CLAYPOOL - The Claypool Town Council met Tuesday afternoon to approve a resolution that allows the transfer of funds to balance the 2009 budget.

The board moved money in the general, MVH, LRS and the county economic development income tax funds to assure that all the funds for 2009 were in the black.

The board also approved taking $2,000 out of the general fund to the town's rainy day fund.

The money came from the county who paid for the use of a storage building in town.

The board also approved the purchase of a 12-month CD that came from proceeds of the sale of town park property to Norfolk Southern.

"We'll have to assess what to do with (the CD) at the end of the year," said board president Don Miller II. "We can figure out then how to use it then."
