CLAYPOOL - At Tuesday night's meeting, the Claypool Town Council adopted the 2023 budget and voted unanimously for the Claypool Police Department to join the countywide drug task force, Narcotics Enforcement Team 43 (NET43).
Along with the $376,456 budget, the Council also approved creating the Claypool Marshal Department Forfeiture Fund. This fund will be a repository for seizure money awarded to the CPD from drug-dealing cases.
Joining NET43 as an associate member will not change Town Marshal Ben Sanders's current patrol or duties. It allows the CPD to access more equipment and resources from larger agencies.
