CLAYPOOL - The Clay Township Advisory Board caucus scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 6 has been rescheduled.
It will now take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17 at the Claypool Lions Building.
Kosciusko County Republican Party Central Committee Chair Mike Ragan said it was postponed due to unexpected conflicts with both voting members of the caucus.
Due to the schedule change, Ragan said the filing deadline was also extended until 72 hours prior to the caucus, or 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14.
The only candidate who had filed by Monday’s original 6 p.m. deadline was Bryon Wells, 70.
The Republican caucus is required due to the July 18 death of member Donald Morris. Morris’ term expires Dec. 31, 2026, but Morris had filed for re-election in this November’s election.
